LONG JOURNEY
After two long years since my accident. I hope to at last be approaching the final stretch of recovery. I am two weeks post operative and now have a lump of Titanium in my left elbow.
Stuck with a brace for four weeks and no weight bearing or wrist rotation allowed, but maybe just maybe I can really once more type with two hands again. It will certainly make writing Origin II much easier.

Opportunity rover on Mars
OPPORTUNITY THE MARVEL ROVER
As the current two Mars Rovers continue their work on Mars, back on Earth scientists huddle over computers looking at the amazing results of not the newest rover, but the nine year old Opportunity.
Opportunity is an amazing mission, achieving far more than its original programming or its builders ever hoped. Mars is such a hostile world, you have the cold, the low light levels which can starve Opportunity of power. You have of course the fine grain dust that squeezes into every component, hinge and joint plus of course the hostile Sun, without the protection of a magnetic shield the Rovers receive high doses of radiation every minute of their existence.
So considering all the hostile conditions it is amazing that Opportunity is still running nine years down the line after its bumpy pillow landing. Not only is that some magnificent achievement, but it is still finding and discovering rocks and deposits that make its younger rover cousin jealous.
We now have enough proof that not only did water run freely on the surface of Mars, but that it was not all acidic. It is likely as the planet aged and lost what little magnetic shield it had that the surface gradually became more hostile and the water more acidic. But the key, the most important discovery of all, Mars had drinkable water in its distant past.
With that knowledge, and with the knowledge that in the past when Mar's core was hot and volcano's still spat hot rock, that Mars could have and was likely to be the cradle of life.
Not just a cradle for itself, but it could well turn out in the next decade that not only did it cradle its own life, but it may well have been the cradle for all life in our Solar System.
If you look at the surface of Mars it is cratered with huge Stella impacts. It is these impacts that brought life to Earth. Two of these impacts created us and maybe created species two, Vumans.
This is the premise of ORIGIN, a must read Vampire Science Fiction crossover that reboots the entire genre.

Authors- Feedback you must never ignore
Good morning all,
As a debut author and having recently published my first novel, I have found the most useful element is making contact with a reader or two and discussing your book with them.
This is I feel essentially important to improve your work. And certainly better than going for a direct professional review. I am not knocking a professional review, they are most important. But once a review has been done, if they have picked up on small errors it can damage your marketing.
A reader is impartial and I feel enjoys being able to give constructive feedback and helping an author.
So make a few friends on facebook who are readers not authors.
Do not use other authors, they are your competitors no matter how friendly they appear to be. A reader has no other axe to grind than wanting to enjoy your book.
Avoid things like Goodreads or Authonomy, 90% of the people on those sites are other authors wanting to promote themselves and their books. The feedback you are likely to get is going to disappoint. Stick with facebook, twitter and a blog.
I write this particular entry with one arm as usual, my surgery on my left arm has been done, I hope to be able to return to full blown writing in a month or two. I hope, depending on the titanium and the pain going away.
Here is a post I put on facebook
Why do Vampires fear the light? The answers in Origin, the mould breaking Novel as unique as Dracula. http://www.amazon.co.uk/ORIGIN-ebook/dp/B00CTS3ZX0/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1369772912&sr=1-1
Have a great weekend all.

Who do those lips belong to on the cover?
I have had many emails about who's lips are on the cover. Rather than reply individually it is easier if I reveal the Model here.
Tiina Keskitupa from Finland.
A beautiful model who is based in the UK London.
When considering the permanent cover for Origin I wanted something unique. Tiina was the very model who has that uniqueness, star quality and sex appeal.
If you want to know more about her, links to her website and photos are below.
I recommend 18+ viewers only.

In for my OP tomorrow it will be nice to write with two arms, I hope. PS Thank you for supporting Origin
As I go in for my Op tomorrow I look forward to be able to write with both arms, its been two years since the accident.
Origin was written in frustration and with a new appreciation for people overcoming a disability. I have been given an insight which I will never forget.
I look forward to starting to write Origin II 'Vampires Revenge'.
Again a huge thank you to everyone who has bought Origin I, as a debut author seeing my first novel in at 44th Best Selling Horror on Amazon and 69th in the Science Fiction was a huge boost.

ORIGIN is released on Kindle tomorrow
Her daughter Holly sat on the tiled white floor with her back to her. Mary sighed, “What are you doing Holly?” Holly turned, her face covered in blood the family cat lay limp in her hands, its entrails dangled sickeningly. Mary was stunned, she tried to breath but could not; her scream muted her hands and body frozen.

Vampires - Myth? or Plausible Reality?
Prior to writing Origin I was what I would describe as being a 'traditionalist Vampire fan', Bram Stoker being the benchmark, although I enjoyed Blade as a good action romp I was always left feeling a little unsatisfied.
For me as a romantic but factual person, basing my life on scientific theories and beliefs I was always slightly unable to commit to say 'Twilight', it just seemed all too male 'Dominated' and non-factual and non-scientific and shaky But you have to commend the series itself for its blistering success.
But for me, I always wanted to delve into the possible plausible science behind the Vampire's abilities. And hence Origin was born, over a cup of coffee.
Scientifically Origin explains properly the abilities of Vampires, how they fly, why they live so long, why they are so resistant to death and why they need to feed on human blood. No scientific stone or explanation is left untouched.
The key for me, is it possible for vampires to exist? Yes! is it possible for the species to have the powers suggested? Yes!
That is when the shiver went down my spine, for all the hype and fantasy around Vampires the one thing I did not expect was that I would actually become more afraid of them as I wrote my book about them. An unexpected side effect of proving that such creatures could exist but probably actually do, possibly.
